I was lurking around on the site and realized it has been a while since I’ve posted anything. I’ve been around, but mostly I’ve been trying to expand my web presence for my art, illustration and photography. I didn’t necessarily mean to neglect this blog, but it happens. Anyway, this blog will still be for sketches, personal stuff and game talk and will be a little more laid back than my main site.
For now I need to take a look at what art I have or haven’t posted here. Hopefully I’ll have some art to share.

This week I’ve been working on a drawing using chalk pastels. It’s been
a very long time since I’ve drawn with them, and I forgot how messy
they are. I was covered in chalk; my hands, clothes, socks. I blew my
nose and well … let’s just say the tissue had rainbow colors. The
funniest part though was when I woke up this morning and saw that not
even my poor cat was safe. Her little paws are blue.

Here is a recent digital painting that I finished. I had so much fun with this one. I’ve added it to my site and is available as a print here.
I’ve also started a youtube channel that will be mostly for art stuff and photography adventures. I’ve had a lot of family and friends that have asked questions about what digital painting is and how I work, so I figured doing some videos would help answer those types of questions. You can view a quick video about this digital artwork here.

I recently replayed Silent Hill 2. According to my memory card it said It had been 8 years since I last beat the game. 8 years??? I couldn’t believe it had been almost a decade since I last played what I had considered my all time favorite game. I was curious to see if it still held up after all these years. In my opinion, it did. Of course, it can’t compare to today’s graphics and gameplay, and isn’t nearly as scary at this point. But, I still regard the storytelling and atmosphere to be masterfully done and still some of the best. And, for the record, I still find that room where you find Angela and the Abstract Daddy boss to be one of the creepiest environments ever.
Does the game still hold my favorite spot? Maybe. It’s hard to pick a favorite game at this point. I’ve played so many, and there are some really great games. Regardless, the game and series still remains one of my favorites, and probably always will. It has been just as long since I played through the rest of the games in the series, so I plan to replay all of them at some point.

Here is an illustration I did last month. It was for the author, Rose Withering, for her book, The Elvin Princess. I’ll be starting another illustration for her soon that I’m really excited about because I’ll be drawing things I’ve never drawn before.
And, working on another person’s characters only makes me want to work on my own even more, so I hope to do a few illustrations of my own characters soon.
I’m starting the year out with a little illustration project for a book cover. I’m pretty excited and hope it all works out. It will be a good experience for me to see if I like doing illustration work. So far I’ve enjoyed the experience, and I’ll post work when I can.

I finished my digital painting of my two ryukin goldfish, Ellie and Fishopher Walken. This was an artwork that I had pushed to the side for a long while, so it feels good to finally have it finished. Now it can be added to my growing collection of animal portraits. The hard part now is to make a decision on what I want to paint next.

I plan to start posting some of my photography here as well as my art and sketches.
